Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of this website and any order you place on it. By ordering you agree to them. Please read the section on the nature of our products — it explains things about handmade, preservative-free food that are easy to mistake for faults.
Who you are contracting with

We are not registered under GST. Our prices are final and carry no tax component; you will not receive a tax invoice showing GST, because none is charged.
Orders
Adding items to your bag is not an order. Placing an order is an offer to buy. A contract exists only when we accept it, which happens when we confirm your order after payment succeeds.
We may decline an order. The usual reasons are that the item sold out between your adding it and paying, that the delivery address is outside the area our couriers serve, that the order appears automated or fraudulent, or that a price was displayed incorrectly.
If we decline an order you have already paid for, we refund it in full. That is the entire consequence — we owe nothing beyond the refund.
Prices and payment
All prices are in Indian Rupees and include everything except delivery, which is a flat ₹39, added at checkout.
Payment is online only — UPI, credit card, debit card, netbanking or wallet — handled by the PhonePe Payment Gateway. We do not offer cash on delivery.
Prices can change at any time. The price that applies to your order is the one shown at the moment you pay. Your order total is recalculated on our server from our own records before any payment is taken, so a price altered in your browser has no effect.
If an item is listed at a clearly wrong price — a decimal in the wrong place, or a figure far below cost — we are not obliged to sell at that price. We will contact you and either confirm the correct price or cancel and refund.
The nature of what we sell
Our preparations are made by hand, in small batches, from a single spring harvest, with no colour, no added essence and no preservative. Three consequences follow, and none of them is a defect:
Colour, texture and aroma vary between batches. Gulkand made in April does not look identical to gulkand made in May. Sugar may crystallise. Sharbat may settle and need a stir.
Weights are nominal and may vary slightly. We fill by hand.
Shelf life depends on how you store it. Storage instructions are on every label and on the product page; a preservative-free preparation left open or wet-spooned will spoil, and that is not a fault in the product.
Our products are food, not medicine. Nothing on this site is medical advice, and no product here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. If you are pregnant, diabetic, on medication or managing a health condition, ask a doctor before making anything a regular part of your diet. Ingredients are listed in full on every product page — if you have an allergy, read them.
Stock
The quantities shown are what we actually hold. Because these are seasonal, an item can sell out for months rather than days. We do not take backorders.
Delivery
We dispatch within 1–2 business days and delivery usually takes a further 3–5 days. Full details are in our Shipping & Delivery Policy, which forms part of these terms.
We deliver within India only.
Cancellation and returns
Set out in full in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: you may cancel before dispatch, and we do not accept returns except where goods arrive damaged, defective, or are not what you ordered.
Your account
If you create an account, keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access to it.
Do not attempt to place automated orders, probe or interfere with the site, or use it in any way that disrupts it for other people. We may refuse service to anyone doing so.
Our content
The text, photographs, artwork, the name From Haldighati and the design of this site belong to us. You may not copy or reuse them commercially without our written permission. You are welcome to quote a short passage from the Journal with a link back.
Liability
We are responsible for delivering the goods you paid for, in the condition described. Where something goes wrong and it is our fault, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for delays caused by a courier, a strike, weather, or any other event outside our reasonable control, or for the consequences of your not following the storage instructions.
Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Udaipur, Rajasthan have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any right you have to bring a consumer complaint where you live.
Changes
We may change these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it. Last updated 22 September 2026.
