Rose sharbat lemonade: a gulab sharbat cooler

Rose sharbat, lime and soda — a clear, fragrant summer cooler that takes two minutes and no cooking.

Rose sharbat — gulab sharbat — is a concentrate, and lime is its natural partner: the acid sharpens the rose instead of hiding it. Because our sharbat has no added colour, the drink stays clear.

Ingredients

• 30 ml clear rose sharbat
• Juice of half a lime
• 200 ml chilled soda or water
• A few mint leaves
• Ice

Method

1. Put the ice and mint in a glass and press the mint lightly with a spoon.
2. Add the rose sharbat and the lime juice.
3. Top up with chilled soda or water and stir.
4. Taste — add a little more sharbat for sweeter, more lime for sharper.

Tips

For a party jug, multiply everything by six and add the soda just before serving. For a creamy version, swap the soda for cold milk and leave out the lime. Made with our Clear Rose Sharbat, which ships anywhere in India for a flat ₹39.
